A Grand 4th of July in Orland
The Orland Historical Society Hosted the 37 Old Fashioned 4th of July with a large turnout from the community. The children packed the area and enjoyed the games, contests and fire hoses that were put out by the Orland Fire Department. The Orland Eagles had barbecue chicken going and the Orland Moose Lodge was serving hamburgers and hot dogs. The Orland Historical Society was ready with pie and ice cream for desert. The Orland Heroes project was serving root beer floats and the Soroptimist Club was serving snow cones to keep everyone cool. While everyone enjoyed their food and visited, the Orland Town Band filled the park with patriotic music.
Be sure to see the photo gallery for photos from the celebration. There are photographs from the car parade, decorated hats, decorated bikes, decorated pets and the many contests that make this event special.
Miss Glenn County Karlene Shipplehoute and 2nd Runner Up Rebecca Pendergrass were both present and helped with the event. Including presenting the frogs for auction and catching them when they escaped.
