About Us

Orland Bulletin was established in 2011, after I, Steven Monck, watched business after business fail in my home community of Orland Ca. I also watched many of the service clubs suffer from lack of membership and lack of community participation. 30 years ago, the people that lived in Orland Ca knew everybody and knew when events were happening. Today, many of the people that knew what was going on have left us or are to busy to let people know what is going on in Orland Ca. People today live very active lives with many of us working outside of our community. This environment makes it hard to know about your community and what is happening in it.

We also live in the age of computers, the internet, social media and smart phones. I have had the opportunity to be part of both generations; I remember Orland Ca from the “old days”, but I can communicate with modern technology. It is my goal that the Orland Bulletin will not only serve our current Orland community members and Orland businesses but also allow Orland Ca to grow in new ways as it has never been able to in the past by reaching out to potential new businesses and community members.
